Flash Game Preservation Project Posted: 09 Dec 2020 05:18 PM PST Hello, folks! Yesterday I stumbled across a project which may be of interest to this community. BlueMaxima's Flashpoint is a "webgame preservation project." From the Flashpoint website: "Internet history and culture is important, and content made on web platforms including, but not limited to Adobe Flash, make up a significant portion of that culture. This project is dedicated to preserving as many experiences from these platforms as possible, so that they aren't lost to time. Since early 2018, Flashpoint has saved more than 70,000 games and 8,000 animations running on 20 different platforms." Their games collection includes many (perhaps all?) of our beloved Neopets flash games. You can download Flashpoint and play these games on your PC, no internet connection required. Of course, you can't earn Neopoints this way, but you'll be able to play Turmac Roll to your heart's content, even into 2021. A few miscellaneous points: Shockwave games are included! Hello, Hannah! You can resize the games! Marvel at detail you didn't know existed! Apparently some antivirus software really hates Flashpoint, so you may have to fiddle with it if the games don't run as expected.
