    If you have Chrome: get Tampermonkey to use it! Greasemonkey for Firefox, and I'm unsure about other browsers.

    today has been the worst and i just need to vent

    i woke up sick this morning so, it started off bad and then, i got some really devastating news. im shocked and in tears and i dont really know what to do.

    it's been two hours and i finally forced myself out of bed to do my dailies. i told myself:

    ​

    "if you're not gonna do anything today. at least do your dailies on neopets."

    i know it's not important but it's routine. it's constant. it's the bare minimum i do every day no matter how shitty i feel because, even though it's not much, it's doing something.

    i feel a little tiny bit better now. it sounds dumb, and im glad no one can see me playing a virtual pet game through tears, but it's calming. neopets doesn't fix anything. i can barely focus on it anyway. it's just like sipping a mug of how tea when you're sick. it's a familiar and safe place to unwind.

    for a few minutes, i'm eight years old again and the only thing that matters is my stupid neopet.

    edit: i didn't know this would get such a big response. im not replying to everyone directly but just know that i've read all of your comments and i appreciate them. im doing okay and i'll probably be back on my bullshit soon.

    When someone brought up healing a sick pet, I posted about how I put my mutant cybunny in the pound in hopes that a wealthier neopian would adopt her and heal her, I thought I'd add more silly stuff.

    I had an account named "bootyliciousbabe" with extra numbers. I had it for a few years and was "randomly" permanently frozen because the name was inappropriate. I was nine and destiny's child was the bomb at the time. I was mortified and couldn't understand their decision. Looking back, I'm like "oh, yeah that's weird."

    I "pimped" my Gelert out. Oh yes, I swear to goodness people would have their neopets "date." She would only date lupes. Another neopian's Lupe dated and had a baby with my Gelert... and we created a whole other pet to be their baby. (Again, weird. I fully support tnt putting a stop to this.)

    You could have music in your userlookup. I was grumpy to see this was no longer an option. Now, I can see why it's hard to moderate that and... it could kind of be annoying.

    I actually met someone in a guild when I was 11ish and we talked on aim. I ended up meeting this person a decade later and we dated irl. (If you see this, please don't dox me. I miss you but I'm glad we ended up with great partners.) if anyone under 18 sees this. The internet was the wild Wild West at the time and we are lucky we were actually both who we said we were. Don't go off of neopets to contact someone. Also why are you on reddit?

    Nowadays, if you have a generic "welcome to my userlookup" and no css link, people think "wow, why wouldn't you give credit?" Back in the day... "coding and graphics" stealing was rampant.

    Meepits were expensive, white paint brushes were 20k, Lab maps were less than 100k, and your parents could fax in that you can chat on the boards.

    People would hang out on help chat and their usernames said "hc_fakename" and at one point help chat disappeared.

    I stopped playing for a long time but as said before, I'm so glad to be back. I'm happy to have a piece of childhood still in existence. I'm thankful for the old rules being enforced and the new rules. (Except for maybe that I can't say "sticky snowballs")

    Wondering if anyone else remembers this or why I post silly stuff like this when I stay up too late.
