    Trendy Thursdays #258! - The place where anyone can help you on your customizations!

    Hello! Welcome to the Weekly Customization Thread (a.k.a Trendy Thursdays), this is where you can request help to customize one of your pets, and anyone who wants to help can reply to them.

    Also, if you have any general question about NC, or what petpet goes with your pet, etc, feel free to ask here too!

    Rules:

    To ask for help on a customization, you need to provide the following information:

    • Species.

    • Colour.

    • Gender.

    • Name of the pet. (Not necessary, but it might help get a better understanding of a theme)

    • Theme, if you have any.

    • Limitations on wearables, if you can only use NP, or you can also use some NC.

    • If you are able to cross-paint your pet.

    format is not necessary to copy, also if you have a half-finished custom you don't have to provide the info :)

    To help make customizations, please try to follow these simple guidelines:

    • Include a link to the customization. (Using DTI or JN's Wardrobe)

    • Try to include a brief summary of why you customized like that. (Not necessary but it can help!)

    • If you use expensive NC items, make sure to find other items to replace them (if the user can't afford them).

    • You can reply to anyone who needs help, you can't take dibs on one user.

    • You can also reply to other customizations offered to do constructive criticism or offer modifications. (Remember to be nice.)

    • If the customization you reply with is not yours, please give credit to the creator.

    While the new DW items retire after today, I have now finally completed the outfits I created with them :D (Pink Lulu's and DW White Ghostly Orbs(2x) were the hardest) Happy with the results! �� Made 5 of my girls happy (sorry guys, this was a girly dyeworks :P)

    Neopets is sucking away my life

    I feel like I'm going to be downvoted to oblivion for ranting about this site, but I also just need to get my frustration and sadness off my chest.

    I have been playing on Neopets since I was 9 (I am now 22). And I played it obsessively in middle school. But I pretty much quit neopets in 2012/2013 when I started high school, and it definitely didn't cross my mind throughout college (just graduated in May).

    For some reason, I came back to Neopets in April. And it was SO nice coming back to Neopets as an escape from this miserable virus-infested, joy-sucking, future-halting year. I came back to the Negg Festival, and from April to now, my bank account went from 7 mil neopoints to 40 mil neopoints. It was always relaxing to come back here and spend hours on this site, reliving events like the Altador Cup and chatting on the avatar chat and achieving most of my childhood goals (such as getting 300+ avatars, completed customization goals, crosspainted one of my aishas, getting a UC pet, etc. I say most because I will never get a stamp avatar lol).

    But now, I see that I am literally wasting away my days playing on neopets, a site I haven't thought about in almost a decade, by being on this site from when I wake up to when I fall asleep. Of course I do other things in the middle. But I have noticed that Neopets is the first thing I check on in the morning, and last thing I do before I sleep.

    And the sad thing is, I don't even know what I'm doing here. I feel like I'm just rotating through pages. I do my dailies, do some quests, check some boards, lurk auction, repeat. I don't really do anything here, so I am not sure why I have this obsession about this site. I started to even find stuck pets out of boredom - the most time-consuming thing ever - only to feel a little productive on neopets.

    Now I am sad because I look back in these past few months, and I don't know what I did. People have been using their quarantine to do so many cool or useful things, like cooking or doing artwork/crafting or playing sports or working out or spending time with family. I don't spend any time with my family even though they have been nice enough to let me stay with them while I try to find a job, I talk to my friends occasionally, I ignore my boyfriend the whole day because he always wants to do stuff virtually together but I am playing on Neopets, and then call him after midnight when I am too tired to play on Neopets, I don't workout anymore even though I used to go to the gym several times a week for hours. I don't play sports like I used to. I'm not job-hunting as actively as I should. I don't do anything except play on this site doing absolutely nothing. And I am so upset and disappointed with myself. I thought I could come here and balance out my life and this hobby. But I can't, even though this site has nothing to offer me. There are no events (I know I know, it's because of the conversion stuff and mobile app that this understaffed site can't afford to host events right now); all my neofriends are gone; I have no goals; there is nothing to do here. And all I can do is be upset that it's almost September and I still haven't gotten a job yet even after being graduated for three months. And most importantly, I have nothing to show for these past several months.

    TLDR: I absolutely suck and I got sucked into playing Neopets again. I am on Neopets all the time and it is sucking away my life. I am depressed that I have done nothing in these past few months except staring at a screen doing nothing on Neopets. I am jobless and sad and I don't talk to my love ones that often anymore. Help and advice needed to get off this site, because for some reason I can't do it. I keep coming back.

    FFQ up for grabs

    So I have a FQC active so I can get some easy stats for my pet. I got a FFQ today and I don't need or want it. I could just save it in case I want to use it in the future but what's the fun in that?

    So I'm going to give one person their dream pet. Just as a reminder, the fountain faerie can't do royal, burlap, ice, magma, 8-Bit, Mosaic, MSP, Quiguki, Robot, Royal, Sponge, or Usuki.

    The way this is going to work is I'm going to give everyone time to post their dream pets. I will probably leave for a bit because I have some stuff I have to do, but after a few hours I'll come back, put everyone's name in a random name selector, and then pick someone that way. Then I'll message whoever the winner is and they can pick a name. I'd prefer a name from the pound, but if your heart is set on an untaken name I'll create it for you.

    I can get a draik or krawk morph if that's your dream pet.

    For everyone else, I truly wish I had more FFQs to give everyone. I still have like 6 days left of this cookie and another one so if I get another FFQ I'll do another giveaway.

    I met a goal, you get a freebie

    I met a major goal today so i thought I'd invite you all to celebrate with me.

    Every hour on the hour I'll begin to donate at least one page of inventory 5 items at a time, until they are gone. I believe these items go to the money tree. Today's theme is snack. I'll be buying food items all evening long to support this event. Please check out the money tree. Most items will be inexpensive, but some will definitely be nicer than others. I hope you get something nice.

    Do Rainbow Fountain dips trade for UC?

    So I was lucky enough to have gotten a RFFQ, even more excited when I could picture that beautiful Sponge Kiko in my line-up, ready to party and play!

    Come to find, she doesn't dip pets for sponge colors... What I am wondering, is if I can trade a custom Neopet, painted any color from the Rainbow Fountain, for a sponge Kiko?

    And in asking for that sort of strange request, is there anything I can dip in the Rainbow Fountain that would trade for a VBN UC Sponge Kiko? Only reason I ask is because, according to this guide, UC Mallow Grundo's trade for UC Sponge Kikos, and since the Mallow's look very similar, maybe someone would be willing to trade a low ranking VBN UC Sponge Kiko for one 😅
