    If you have Chrome: get Tampermonkey to use it! Greasemonkey for Firefox, and I'm unsure about other browsers.

    Neopets and moving on

    Disclaimer: I hope this is okay, I did read through the rules so hopefully it is. It'll probably be long but I promise it is relevant. Its okay if no one even reads, I just needed to share this with people who might "get" it.

    So... I had a good friend growing up called Kelli. Going into the end of elementary and into middle she became my best (read: only) friend. We started playing neopets together (back then it was a new thing) and we were both obsessed with getting a painted pet. We spent countless hours playing games trying to raise millions of NP (which, of course, was futile.)

    Anyway. A few years out of high school we had both fallen into our own "bad crowds" and other than the occasional social media interaction, lost touch. I finally got myself together and while some of her social media posts did seem odd, she always was a bit eccentric and my own mental health was still very fragile.

    A few years after that, I got a facebook message from a mutual friend around thanksgiving of 2018. Kelli was dead. She was gay and always a bit of a wild child and her ultra-conservative parents promptly deleted all her social media they could. They refused any information or attempts of contact from any of her friends. The mutual friend and I tried everything...contacting her brother, funeral homes, cemeteries, even the police. All they could tell us was they made contact with her parents and gave them our contact info...of course, we never heard anything.

    Anyway...my point in putting this here was I recently got back into an old neopets account. Not the original one from way back then but a few years later. I went to browse the pound and the first thing I saw was a candy Buzz. I was so excited!! We had always dreamed of something like that happening but back then hours upon hours of pound surfing yielded nothing. I then found a lost pet site and picked up electric and ghost xweetoks.

    I so badly wanted to call her and tell her so she could be excited with me. Maybe she could back into the game and we could play together again like when we were kids. Maybe I could've helped her. Maybe she'd still be here.

    Its been strange trying to grieve for an old friend in such an awkward way but I guess getting back into this game has been helpful in a way. Playing sort of helps me think of her fondly and the great memories we made rather than solely fixating on the guilt of not reaching out sooner.

    Well...there's my novel. Sorry for the length and again, hope its alright to post. I'm okay and life is good now so truly no sympathy needed...I just wanted to share. Its pretty cool how meaningful some pixels can be.

    I haven't played Neopets in many, many years, but after a while I've revived my 10+ year old account and I've been getting the hang of everything again. Recently I've managed to dress up my Aisha with a nice lil red and white aesthetic. It was pretty pricey, but worth it. I'm saving up for the red eyeshadow to finalize it and maybe in the future I'll put up some background items. I think this look would be better on a white Aisha, but the paintbrush is super expensive so I'll just stick to what I have for now, haha.

    Spam and Threats

    I was cleaning out my trash and spam folders in my personal email today, and had three emails from three different people over the past week, each with the subject "your password is XXXXXXX". I've been trying to get into my old Neopets account, from 15+ years ago, and I recognized the password in the title as one a type of password I used for my old Neopets account.

    The email was written in English but with weird characters that look like our letters. They threatened that they've compromising footage and if I don't buy them Bitcoin or something then they'll release whatever footage they have to people they've found in my phone contacts list. Maybe I was a dummy for opening up even one of the emails, but they said that they'd know when I saw/read the email, that I'd have 24 hours to deal with it- wtf.

    Obviously, I'm not buying them Bitcoin or whatever else they want. I'm wondering if there's a way to report this, either to the Neopets team, the police, whatever. Has anyone else dealt with this or received these threats before? Is this part of the same data breach that happened a few years ago and ended up locking lots of people's accounts?

    Hiya. I've been on daily, searching every hour for my magma pool time. I have used a calculator to figure out when my time should be, and it says 45 minutes past the hour. I've checked 45 minutes past the hour on each hour, and I still haven't found it. I've also tried checking several other times. Is there a chance my magma pool is bugged? Thank you for any help.

    Email set to random characters and Password no longer works?

    Sometime last year I went to change my userlookup and was being told my password (which has been the same for a while) is incorrect. I logged out of my account on my phone to do a password reset, only to be told my email is invalid. I checked the email on my computer and it has been changed to a 32 character random string of letters and numbers with no "email" ending (with the @ and .com).

    I emailed TNT in October and they never got back to me, is there anyone who had a similar issue and was able to change their username and password? Or do you recommend I keep emailing TNT every few months until I get help?

    frozen account recovery?

    A few years ago, my old main was frozen for reasons unknown. It was pretty devastating as I had put a lot of effort into my pets, had a lot of rare NC items, etc. I do not know why I was frozen at all, it happened during a hiatus and I have heard stories about how unwilling TNT was to unfreeze people's accounts so I didn't even bother to file a ticket and just decided to quit neo for good. This was in 2016.

    My account hasn't been purged yet. I still lookup my old pets through the search bar to see them. I have seen a lot more users talk about unfreezing old accounts and such and having more success nowadays. What steps do I need to take to possibly unfreeze my old account?

    Also, I had restarted playing from a side account that is my new main. Even If I get my old account unfrozen, the account i'm playing on now will still be my main. I really just want my pets back. Can I still sell my stocks and transfer items from my old account to my new main? I don't want to unfreeze my old account just to get both my accounts (that I have put a lot of work into) frozen again.
