| 592 Nerkmids, stats and profitability calculations. Posted: 14 Dec 2020 03:19 PM PST Decided to sink my bank into Nerkmids, wanted to wait for a new month to get a gold trophy but grew impatient. Money spent is 43-45 mil. Magical Platinum Nerkmid * 104 Significant NP drops: 16,622 Platinum Nerkmid X * 106 Platinum Nerkmid XX * 109 Basic Platinum Nerkmid *124 Normal Platinum Nerkmid * 22 Ultra Platinum Nerkmid * 12 Other Nerkmids, mostly gold * 115 Paintbrushes: 28, 4.7% drop rate Totals: 28 items 17,465,999 NP NP won: 1.45 mil Total loss 23-25 mil. The platinum Nerkmids get expensive when you buy out the SW. If you want to go for the trophy then go for the Platinum Nerkmids, many guides fail to mention this. Only some reddit and forum posts do. I don't know if I got really unlucky with the "Basic Platinum Nerkmid" or if I accidentally zoned out or what happened. Its possible that some Platinum Nerkmids are not good if going for trophy. The vending machine does not seem to drop Plantinum Nerkmids. I went 50 paint brushes dry on Basic Platinum Nerkmid at one point and 60+ PB dry on the lesser Nerkmid types. It averaged out in the end. The quoted drop rate for a PB is exactly 5% for all Nerkmids. If I had gotten 2 more PB drops I would have hit the 5% mark. I have no idea how people could dare to play this when PB plushies, TCGs and other junk was in the drop list. Paintbrushes are too cheap for the vending machine to be worth it, you need to get really lucky and in the long run you won't, that is the nature of gambling. No new people playing the game in the last 10 ish years, people have their pets and are happy with them. Customization and the conversion of pets took a lot of wind out of paintbrushes. Neopets is dying and fewer people are paying for premium, fewer Nerkmids entering the game. You can get 104 different paint brushes from the vending machine and according to JN their average price is 758K For the average drop rate of 5% the number of paint bushes I should have received is 30, at the average price of 758K that is 22,740,000 mil. I got unlucky by 5,274,001 NP. Lets assume you use 10,000 nerkmids at 75,000 NP each. You use Nerkmids that are not Platinum Nerkmids where NP rewards are negligible, it gets lost in you being forced to buy more expensive Nerkmids to get to 10,000. You also do not sell the gross food you get, you shove it in the SDB never to be seen again. Who has time for that? PB drop rate is 5% at average JN price of 758K each. My Nerkmid drop rate was 13% and we will take that as the average. You sell the extra Nerkmids back at the price you bought them at. This gives you an effective 13% discount on the nerkmids. You buy the Nerkmids for 652.5 mil (with the "discount"). With those 10,000 Nerkmids you will get 500 PB drops. The more you play the closer you will get to the 5% average drop rate and 758K average price of drop. JN prices are higher. The price of a Nerkmid needs to be 43,563 NP for you to break even in the long run, and even then you won't. [link] [comments] | ||
| A Thought I Had About The Halloween Animations in the Advent Calendar Posted: 14 Dec 2020 05:24 AM PST I mentioned before how annoyed I was that some of the Advent Calendar animations and prizes were more Halloween-y than Christmas-y, and I started thinking that I wouldn't mind Haunted Woods animations so much if they just kept them Christmas-themed. I know the Haunted Woods is a Halloween-themed land but here's some scenarios I thought out: - Spooky Neopets finding old dead trees and putting lights and creepy ornaments on them (maybe even show them trying to decorate the Brain Tree much to his annoyance) - Sophie putting a bunch of weird ingredients together in what looks like a potion, but then it turns out she was making gingerbread cookies. - An animation that starts out scary by showing a pet being chased by a werelupe, but at the end it turns out he was just chasing after them to give them a present of just to say "Merry Christmas" to them. Show the Haunted Woods citizens celebrating the holidays in their own spooky way. Use your imagination, TNT. [link] [comments] | ||

I see a lot of people talk about how expensive it gets (in regards to NP investment in codestones) to train a pet for level 100-150+.
