| Posted: 06 Nov 2019 01:31 AM PST So I saw that you can have Neofriends on the site as well as have Neofriend only auctions and whatnot. But I'm wondering how do you actually acquire them? I've not seen anywhere were you can actually meet other players except for this place. I know there's a discord for it too here but being in too many discord chats overwhelms me (especially if it's fast moving). So, how do I get some Neofriends? Honestly there's so much about Neopets that I'm just figuring out. Like you can do other things than play games and make np. Granted I like making np because it makes me feel more successful. | Posted: 05 Nov 2019 11:16 PM PST There's one user in particular I've been dealing with who will send neomails scoffing at prices and lecturing me about how my listings reflect 'inflated' prices instead of the "true" prices. It's pretty obvious though theyre trying to bully me into selling them items at a large discount. Especially when they open the conversation offering to buy the items - then critique my rates when I don't sell low. Really, there seems to be a basic misunderstanding of how inflation works for many of the regular players. It's either an honest misunderstanding or an intentional feigning of ignorance used to mess with newer sellers. Inflation is not necessarily artificial. When it's not artificial it is appropriate for me as a seller to compete with the current market price of an item - not it's average price going back 2 years. That makes sense right? As sellers we're ultimately in the business of making as much NP as possible. Moreover, the same principle holds true when the scarcity of an item is artificial. Unfortunately it's true that sometimes inflation is caused by suppliers manipulating scarcity at certain price points. I for one don't try to inflate items - but I will not sell items well below the market price simply because others have hoarded the supply. And neither should you. It would just really be useful for people to stop holding on to these "true values" associated with items. There's practically a religion of believers out there proselytizing the one true price of every item on neopets. People get bent out of shape about it. Argue about it. Refuse to buy and refuse to sell at all sorts of silly points when the "true" price of an item will always be relative. [link] [comments] | ||
