    If you have Chrome: get Tampermonkey to use it! Greasemonkey for Firefox, and I'm unsure about other browsers.

    The Neopian economy is broken in various ways, one of which is millions of items flooding the market, many of them junk. Various efforts have been made to get rid of these items (Charity Corner, Rubbish avatar, etc.) But what if we actually encouraged users to *use* these items?

    Right now, Neopet and item interactions are extremely limited. Your Neopet will eat, play with, or groom with almost anything, and they'll derive the same amount of fullness/happiness from it (with very few exceptions). And happiness doesn't even deteriorate like fullness does; something has to specifically happen to reduce happiness, which is fairly rare.

    Because there's no incentive to give your pet a variety of items, many users simply use the Neolodge and/or Soup Kitchen to feed their pets. Personally, I derive more satisfaction from feeding my pets items every day, but I stick with the same menu of dirt-cheap "junk" foods. Occasionally I'll splurge on something nicer, but without an incentive, I can't justify spending that much NP on food. My pets don't even express any particular appreciation when I do. They're just as happy to eat Dung Jelly every day.

    The Gourmet Club is a thing, I know, but there's not much of a point to it unless you're willing to invest truckloads of time and NP to get on the high-score table. And it leaves out all Neopian foods that are neither junk nor gourmet. So what I'd love to see would be:

    1. Pets liking/disliking certain categories of food (not just based on the length of their name). Liked foods could give an extra boost of happiness and/or an extra appreciative comment from the pet. Disliked foods could bring down happiness. Hated foods, or ones that had been eaten recently, could be rejected entirely.
    2. Similar preferences for toys. Extra bonus for liked toys, and disliked toys or ones that had already been played with recently would be rejected. It'd be great if pets appreciated toys that looked like them (get your Jelly Usul a Jelly Usul Plushie!)
    3. Happiness deteriorating (and being tied to hunger; no more pets Dying but Delighted!)
    4. All toys capable of breaking and being repaired at the repair shop. Rather than creating a separate "broken version" of each item, there could just be a "broken" status that makes it unusable, similar to "trading" status.
    5. Grooming could be overhauled in several ways. Maybe grooming items give a bigger bonus than toys, but can only be used once. Maybe makeup items should just be converted to wearables (but that'd be a huge pain to implement, so probably not.)
    6. Gross foods: Alien Aishas should like them! And all other pets should run the risk of getting sick if they eat them. Items like Dung Jelly should also be considered "gross."
    7. The Gourmet Club could be expanded to include *all* foods, or at least run a separate category for the "gourmet" foods. Every pet would have a tally of the unique foods they've eaten, just like the books system. There could be a leaderboard, trophies, avatars, etc.
    8. The Neolodge should be disincentivized as a feeding tool by making it more expensive and/or limiting what pets can do while they're checked in. It was originally supposed to be for users taking a break from the site, after all.
    9. Finally, a chance of stat boosts for taking care of your pet well and using a variety of different items. This could happen randomly when eating/using a new item that the pet hasn't had before.

    I'm sure I'm not the first to think of these things, it's just something that's been on my mind lately as I get back into Neo. It's a pet site, so caring for pets should really be a more engaging process with more rewards. I have to wonder what will happen as TNT focuses on developing the beta site. Will they keep the same old system for using items on pets, or will they take the opportunity to make some changes? I know implementing any of these things would be a ton of work, but I really do think they'd majorly improve the game at its core.     Finally!! Any battledomer corner stone reached!

    Finally got to the final boost level in strength and defense!! Been playing this game for 19 years and the thing that has been always my main reason to come back was the battledome and war plots. Like most people i haven't play 19 non-stop but by seasons and in each one i would train my pet a little until a year ago when I got more serious about it and now here I'm! I wanted to share my happiness with you guys! Next goal is to get myself some of the top weapons like the WOTDF

    Had a bit of a run-in with nostalgia over the last few days, and I've been trying desperately to play some of the older games requiring the Shockwave plugin (Gourmet Club Bowls and the Ice Caves are some of my favourites)!

    I have tried installing old versions of the plugin and various browsers, but nothing seems to work.
