    Hello all! I wanted to host a giveaway in honour of all the kindness I've seen on this subreddit and the fact that I have graduated! Yipee!

    PRIZES

    There will be 10 prize bundles total with fun school related goodies like textbooks and featuring ONE grand prize winner with a Red Job Coupon and a Job Seekers Manual bc Class of 2020 needs all the help they can get.

    RULES

    Post a random number between 1 - 200 and a fun school story (to make it more fun!)

    I will use a random number generator to pick the winner, with the first picked getting the grand prize. Please ensure that your number has not been selected before you post, if a number with duplicates is picked, I will pick the entry that was posted first. So if you pick a number thats already taken, you've disqualified yourself.

    To this end if you edit your comment, I will consider the edit time to be the time of entry, so change your number to a unique one if you do change your comment. Replying to a comment to add a story is fine, and no need to change your number in that case. I'm hoping the large range of numbers will make duplicates less likely

    STORY TIME

    I guess its not fair since I had time to think of a story, but the first thing that came to mind was in my Electromagnetism class, me and my friends baked a cake for the prof as a 'thanks for being a great prof' present (including the profs name poorly engraved with chocolate chips at the top)

    Anyway, we wanted it to be a surprise but also had a giant tin on the table. So during class, the prof asked whats in that tin, and without missing a beat my friend replied 'Charge distribution.'

    (This sounds a lot more lame now that I write it, but at the time it was hilarious. For reference, electromag was basically you have this charge distribution. Solve for the magnetic field. I like school I swear, I just, couldnt come up with anything better)

    EDIT STORY TIME 2

    Okay, I cant believe I forgot the legendary hot dog story.

    I need to preface it with physics profs, in my experience, are all a little... strange. Quirky. Which is great, because it makes classes with them fun, but the Prof of this story refined quirkiness into an art form. There are many crazy things he's done, and is commonly referred to as a whirlwind, but none stand out as much as the hot dog machine.

    Now, someone had the wise idea to let Prof. Whirlwind teach first year physics. He's an experimentalist, and promised many demonstrations to engage the students in the material. I think people were expecting common demonstrations, like rotational mechanics and gyroscopes, but Prof. Whirlwind had other ideas.

    I cannot comment on the thought process that lead to this, but somehow I guess he figured that the students weren't really getting electromagnetism and needed a practical demonstration?? a practical demonstration about resistance??

    The idea was to show that anything can be a resistor. Even a hot dog. How was this achieved? Well he got a plank of wood and put about 5 large nails through it. He also got cable that plugs into an electric socket, cut and stripped it, and wrapped the exposed leads around two of the nails.

    He pierced the hot dog on these two nails to form a bridge and then plugged the contraption in. The hot dog cooked in thirty seconds. Ofc, hot dogs arent the same without buns and ketchup, which he also brought to class, naturally.

    A friend of mine worked with Prof Whirlwind at this time and saw the hot dog machine (another was in the first year class in question). They have both shown me pictures and video of the machine and Prof. Whirlwind eating a hot dog during class. The friend who worked with Whirlwind had a hot dog and claims it was surprisingly good.

    There are also claims that he a) built the machine DURING one of his classes (first physics is a large class with many sections) and b) also had a can of beer once he finished the hot dog . While these are totally on brand, I do not personally know anyone who witness those events (just the hot dog itself being cooked) so I treat them as rumours that only add to the surreality of Prof. Whirlwind.

    I just got in to restocking and wanted to see where you all like to restock/where you have the most success restocking as of recently! I've had the best luck from Pizzaroo and plushies. I also just have a lot of fun hunting for rare items and getting them for a good deal! I never really used this part of Neopets when playing in the past but it's definitely become a fun and profitable pastime for me lately. Lets chat about it :)

    Hi friends, Scrappy here! We have gotten a few questions about what is/is not allowed in terms of selling Neopets merchandise. So, we just wanted to clear all of that up quick. Selling exclusive, unlicensed Neopets merchandise without our written consent and a merchandise agreement in place is a violation of our trademarks and not allowed. However, we love all the passion and enthusiasm around creating some new merch and would love to be part of that. If you are interested in creating Neopets merchandise, please reach out to us as we would love to discuss some options with you!

    What do you guys think about this?

    I'm not really familiar with how this kind of thing works so my thoughts here are very much guesses, and I'm really interested to see what other people have to say about it. Does this mean that they are inviting creators to establish merchandise agreements with Neopets? I hope this is the case! Depending on the specifics, it could be really cool. In my opinion, the real power of fan-made merchandise is in promotion and advertising rather than direct revenue (though obviously i am not an accountant for neopets dot com so i dont actually know whether that's the case) so I hope that this is an invitation to actually encourage such agreements. It's also just a good community engagement move. I get the sense that Neopets, like a lot of trademark-holders, like the idea of fan-made work but also like, you can't enforce trademarks selectively. HMMMMM

    Question about the future of flash games

    Since flash will no longer be supported past this year, what do you think will happen to all the flash games on this site?

    Will game avatars be retired if the games do not convert to mobile? Given how little resources Neopets has compared to its heyday, I'm doubtful all these games will get converted.

    I swear to motherfucking Fyora I cannot play these stupid AC games anymore. I will go MAD. My goal was to get to All Star and I'm midway through rank 16 and I just....nearly cried at the amount of SS or YYB and the other games I needed to play to get to All Star but like

    Did I totally mess up the faerie quest fortune cookie?

    So I started the quest on Thursday and finished that one then forgot about it yesterday and cant seem to accept another quest today. Is there anything I can do to continue the quests or did I totally waste the cookie?

    I feel so bummed out and guilty since someone else gifted me that cookie. It meant a lot to me and I'm pretty sure I totally messed it up. Been giving myself a very hard time about it since it was a neocash item, like how did I forget!

    Just posting here in case there's something I can do. Seriously appreciate any help.
