    New NT Editorial Announces Revised Policy of Acceptance on LGBTQIA Topics!

    Wow, I can't believe how weirdly emotional this is making me? For those who haven't seen it, today's editorial announces "some long overdue changes ... to filters surrounding LGBTQIA+ filters and topics on the Neoboards." Writing that it's "important to us on TNT that Neopia and the Neoboards are a safe and welcoming place for everyone, including Neopians in the LGBTQIA+ community," TNT has officially stated that they'll now remove filters on terms such as "gay", "straight", "lesbian", "bi", "queer", "trans", "cisgender", etc. They've also officially clarified that mentioning your own orientation in passing (e.g., "Can't wait to tell my girlfriend I've beaten her high score at Jelly Blobs of Doom!") is totally OK.

    Honestly wasn't expecting this to brighten my day this much. But it's both a huge relief and honestly a really lovely sign of TNT getting with the times. I can now breathe easier, as a lesbian who doesn't talk about her real life anyway but who's had to play the pronoun game a time or two on the neoboards. A few years ago, I posted on this very community to seek advice about whether it'd be OK to write a story about my non-binary neopet for The Neopian Times, just casually using e/em pronouns; now, I feel like I don't have to wonder. It's just so wonderful to think that the community for a game I've been part of since I was a kid will now be a more welcoming place.

    (For anyone who's going to take this in bad faith and post about how ~Neopets isn't the place for real life politics~ and ~talking about being gay is obviously inherently about SEX and has no place on a kid's site~: save your time and go play a flash game instead. Sorry you're on the losing side of history yet again, I guess? Except not really.)

    I'm not sure how transparent the company is about this stuff, if there's a roadmap that was released a while or whatever, but with Flash discontinuing at the end of the year it's a bit of a race against the clock and I haven't noticed a lot of changes in its state as of recent. I'm just curious if anyone has an educated guess on whether or not they'll make it to the cutoff date or if we'll be stuck without access to certain areas for a bit.

    Rainbow Pets

    Hello,

    I'm a bit new and was wondering if I can get some help. I've recently gotten fully back into neopets after playing on and off casually (just for advent calendar basically) for about ten years.

    I recently got a pet with rainbow in the name and I absolutely adore her. I was wondering if anyone would have any advice on how I could change her (yellow Kacheek) to rainbow colored. I'm not picky about species but I've only got around 4 mil, what would be the best way to go about getting her that color besides lab rays or praying for rainbow fountain. Thanks for any advice!
