    just for fun, i've been setting up lots in the trading post with ten inexpensive but kinda neat items and telling people to "bid whatever" or "best offer wins" just to see who bids and what they bid.

    here's what i noticed:

    • people loooove to give lowball offers. i could understand if i put "free" on the wishlist because...duh. it's free. but, people are really out there bidding trash. why would i give you ten 150NP petpets or ten different fuzzles for one single half eaten berry????? what part of "best offer" implies i want something worth significantly less that what im offering?

    • i got lots of offers from the same accounts. idk if they stalk the TP for cheap junk lots or what but there were people that would bid instantly on different lots sometimes hours apart.

    • most of the accounts that bid on my lots seemed like possible shell accounts or cheating side accounts. either that, or they have a really weird way of playing neopets. some accounts were years old with no shop or gallery, or dressed up pets, or games played, or anything. my best guess is that they bid on lots and then send the items to their main to sell which i dont get but i cant imagine what else they could be doing.

    • people are impatient as hell. a few people offered and withdrew within like, ten minutes. like, bitch sorry i had to take my dog outside for a few minutes, chill tf out!!!!!

    • i always always always choose offers from accounts that look legit over shady accounts even if the bid sucks lol. like, if u look like you've got goals and shit hell yeah, i'll help you out.

    anyways just wanna here ur trading post stories lol

    Altador Cup History Spreadsheet

    So I heard the long awaited Altador Cup XV will soon be here, so I've made this spreadsheet detailing every team's placing from previous cups, plus some random statistics. It's a little math heavy but hopefully a few of you will be able to get something out of it.

    The second page is listed by teams AVERAGE placing through the last 14 cups, unfortunately doesn't take who actually won much into account but it'll show you the top placing teams. Have a look for yourself and see what you think, feel free to leave comments.

    Does anyone else feel like the different boards have drastically different vibes? All of the encounters/chats I have with people on, say, the NC board, are very lovely and friendly, whereas the Trades/Auctions boards tend to be more...snarky and aggressive?

    Certainly don't mean to say that this generalization extends to everyone, but I'd be interested to hear others' experiences :) I'm sure much of it has to do with my inexperience trying to RS!

    I've recently finished revamping Maple Field, my altador cup graphics and resources page I've been running for nearly 9 years now! I've remade all the graphics from scratch as the old ones didn't quite represent me anymore.

    You'd think that after 10 years on Neo, I'd have learned the mechanics of it, but I have not. I'm in the process of training my pet, but I am wondering how to pick weapons, what kind of prizes you get, how the Battledome works in general, etc. Anyone know of a good guide?

    Why does the "The City of Sakhmet" webpage cause my computer to lag and CPU fan to run at 60%?

    That webpage exhibits some strange behavior. When I visit it after completing the Fruit Machine, it displays immediately but takes forever to finish loading. And even then, the page still continues to lag my computer as I'm writing this with nothing else in the background.

    I've opened the network tab in the developer console to view the timings, and indeed the page itself takes a while to load (it reports 600 ms, but it's more like 6000, which is 6 seconds). It's almost like there's a cryptocurrency miner embedded in the webpage or something.

    Neopets refuses to adapt to the internet

    I loved the world of neopia when I was a kid, and even came back to play when I was 16 years old, but now, more than a decade from the golden days of 2008, Neopets looks like a shell of itself. And that's because the website just refused to evolve with the internet. Apart from the problems with Adobe Flash/Java, there is still the same quests, contests and games to play, irelevant pages are still listed on the homepage as new features (Money Tree for example) and News still come weekly (can you imagine your Instagram/Facebook/Twitch channel updating weekly? lol). On a time games are updated so frequently and there is such a close contact between players and companies, I just can't bother to play something that looks abandoned by it's owners. I just hold on the good memories. :/
