    Trendy Thursdays #257! - The place where anyone can help you on your customizations!

    Hello! Welcome to the Weekly Customization Thread (a.k.a Trendy Thursdays), this is where you can request help to customize one of your pets, and anyone who wants to help can reply to them.

    Also, if you have any general question about NC, or what petpet goes with your pet, etc, feel free to ask here too!

    Rules:

    To ask for help on a customization, you need to provide the following information:

    • Species.

    • Colour.

    • Gender.

    • Name of the pet. (Not necessary, but it might help get a better understanding of a theme)

    • Theme, if you have any.

    • Limitations on wearables, if you can only use NP, or you can also use some NC.

    • If you are able to cross-paint your pet.

    format is not necessary to copy, also if you have a half-finished custom you don't have to provide the info :)

    To help make customizations, please try to follow these simple guidelines:

    • Include a link to the customization. (Using DTI or JN's Wardrobe)

    • Try to include a brief summary of why you customized like that. (Not necessary but it can help!)

    • If you use expensive NC items, make sure to find other items to replace them (if the user can't afford them).

    • You can reply to anyone who needs help, you can't take dibs on one user.

    • You can also reply to other customizations offered to do constructive criticism or offer modifications. (Remember to be nice.)

    • If the customization you reply with is not yours, please give credit to the creator.

    Do kids play neopets anymore? Who is this beta for?

    I've been thinking a lot about the current beta and the focus there, and it got me wondering- who are they doing this for?

    The UI design and the fact they're working on converting old flash games makes me think they're aiming at kids but... Are there any kids? I feel like it's just us 20 somethings and beyond doing our dailies and hoarding our wealth lol.

    I personally wish neo would focus more on the long time "adult" (that feels dumb to say but y'all get it lol) players and improving the site for those activites- food club, battle dome, restocking, kadding, some new plots or features... Maybe they are, but so far, we have a mobile version of fashion fever and I honestly feel like that speaks volumes as to where the dev energy is going :'D

    Idk, I work as a tech artist/developer and from my experience I know what they have so far must have taken time and effort! But that's exactly what concerns me because if the demographic isn't really into flash games anymore other than trophies and avatars, the site will fail because they're so out of touch with who's left playing.

    Ramble over lol but what do you guys think?

    I love you guys, but I've never been in a community where content was so often submitted through a warped, staticy image of someone taking a picture of their desktop. It's kinda cute, ngl, it reminds me of those stories of someone's sweet Grandma trying to attach photos to an email. But if you never learned how, then no one can blame you! - And it's a lot simpler than breaking out your phone.

    There's a button on your keyboard, generally above Insert, (Where Home/Page Up, etc are, between the main keys and the numpad) it's called Print Screen, but will likely say something like PrtSc, PrtScn, etc. What it does is takes a snapshot of your whole desktop in that moment, which you can then paste (right clicking to Paste, or holding Ctrl and V together) into whatever easy image editor you wanna use. Usually MS Paint. Then you can crop the image, (resize) or block-out any information you may not want shown, like your UN and pet names! Save, and you're good to go.

    There's also some useful Apps you can get that can crop out 'pictures' from your desktop, and kind of cut a few manual steps out for you. I've always been too lazy to get and learn one of these, but if anyone knows of one they like/use, please post it for anyone curious!

    Edit: Cause I usually see a few downvotes roll in off the bat, I want to say I'm not trying to talk down on anyone who's used this method! You gotta learn somehow/somewhere.

    Island builders stuck on newspaper screen

    I was really hyped for this frankly, I mean it looks amazing, but I can't get the app to load past a certain point. No matter what I do (closing the app and clearing cache, just closing it, clearing data) it won't go past the loading screen, eventually it just stops loading entirely. Nothing I do fixes it. Please help, has anyone else had this issue?

    I just came back after a huge break. I've never seen BD items cheaper, so I bought my dream set. 1P is ridiculously easy, and the daily rewards dry up quickly. Is there really much else to do in the BD when you have a good set these days? I was thinking the Obelisk Skirmishes, but extra participation in that doesn't seem to give any extra rewards. The set is probably only going to be useful (if) we have another plot that has a BD element in it. Anyone think that's likely? I might have just spent all my money on a set that's pretty useless in terms of playing... >_>
