| My Horrific Experience with Neopets support Posted: 08 Aug 2020 09:35 AM PDT Hello there. I don't really use Reddit, but I'm just so heartbroken over this experience I had to vent about my story somewhere. I made my Neopets account in 2006 and since then up until late 2014 I have played on this website. As you can imagine I had put a lot into the account. Many NC spent. Many hours playing those Flash games. All of that. Sometime during a hiatus in 2015-2016 my account was hacked. I learned of this in 2017 and sent in a support email. Never got a response. I tried again in 2019. No response. And so I try one more time in 2020. The only reason I even got help this time was because I had to beg for it on the Neoboards. The response I got was just awful. They tell me my account was used for scamming (Done by the hacker, I have never done any sort of NC related trading like they mentioned) and that they can't help me. I provided probably too much proof that showed I was the original owner, and upon hearing that the account was used for scamming, I offered to provide evidence of my past emails to support (That were sent in before this scam occurred and the account was frozen) that would prove that this was the hacker's doing and not mines. Never even acknowledged any of that, just told me "Sorry, can't help you." I know this scam took place after my first support ticket I made in 2017 because my account was NOT frozen at this time. It was frozen sometime in between then and my 2019 ticket. That means that the hacker's scamming took place well after I asked for help the first time. Had support just answered my ticket the first time, this scamming would not have even happened. My account would not have been hacked if it wasn't for the site's horrendous security and database leaks. I lost over a decade's worth of work because of the staff's own negligence and they punish me for it. I am so utterly heartbroken and disappointed in Neopets for this. Tell me, why should I return to a website where it took me 3 years to even have my request for help acknowledged? Where I can lose everything I worked for in the blink of eye, for reasons that aren't even my fault, and I'm just told they can't do anything about it? People would say to just start over again, but why should I when this same thing can just happen to me again? Neopets characters, games and world will always have a special place in my heart, but I have come to accept the game I once enjoyed doesn't exist anymore. | Reading Moltaran books for Magma Pool Posted: 08 Aug 2020 10:14 AM PDT I just recently made a new account after a long hiatus. With the exception of a few quick visits, I've been away since about 2003 or so, so there's a lot of things that are new to me. One such thing is the Magma Pool. I know the usual way in is just to find your time window, but the lack of conclusive information on how to "legitimately" get in caught my attention. So, my account being new, I'm playing around with trying find out how that works. I've decided to start by reading all Moltaran books, but without doing any of the other side-objectives in Moltara (creating a petpet, etc.), to see what happens Today I've read my pet all but four of them: How to Get Past the Guard, Locating Iron, Moltara Town Hall Records, and Tangors Autobiography. Still no dice. So in case anyone was curious, reading books is NOT the way to increase your knowledge of Moltaran ways, unless it requires one of those four books, or requires every single book, or a combination of books and side objectives. I'll probably end up tracking down those books when I can afford them, just to be certain, before I dive into any other Moltaran activities Just wanted to put that out there. But I'm looking at my food club bets, it still says I have active bets (it should be over) but the next match is tomorrow. Typically when the results are pending I won't have active bets... but this time I do? Did I somehow mess up? I wouldn't mind so much but the matter is it's hard to get a foot in the door when no one wants to drop a tier for a converted pet if it isn't RW/RN. I do have a 4 letter but have had no luck. And personally if I wasn't scared of being frozen for it, I'd just buy one on the neopets black market if you will. I tried once and lost my two good accounts and lost the money I spent. So now I'm on edge. I mean if the owner of the UC was like 'yeah i'll take 20 bucks' I wouldn't care that much but the black market UCs are not sold by the owner so,,, Just leaves me stuck in a hole in trying to get one. | Posted: 08 Aug 2020 10:28 AM PDT The other day, I got a Fifty Dubloon Coin from Anchor Management and I thought "Hmmm, maybe I could treat my pets to a nice meal at the Golden Dubloon and hopefully get some leftovers." I'm aware it's well-known that the capacity is buggy since it's mentioned on JN but wow, it's so bad. So I was wondering if anyone has had luck actually getting a meal there? If so, how?
